Lovely write up Lisa and very sensitive to my health issues which have impacted upon our walk. I am devastated that we have had to postpone but hopefully September will see us once again merrily on our way!

Wishing you well Carole. I’ll happily hang around till you two can take it in your stride. My family & I were in the UK & Europe in winter of 2018-19 and we stopped off at a stretch of the wall on our way up to Scotland. It was a blustery and bloody-freezing day but my son and I ventured forth while my husband and daughter quickly retired to the car. It was so fascinating and impressive so would enjoy seeing more… ☮️💟 from Sydney.

I have several very long reads on the go.....and I do hope that you'll enjoy Wuthering Heights. It was my favourite book when I was a teenager - I must have read it ten times at least, but don't know if I could now. I've changed my mind about Heathcliff, and wonder how you'll feel only meeting him now, in a changed world.

It is strangely compelling! I’m about halfway or just under at the moment, having covid has given me the gift of reading time whilst taking my smell and taste, and I am finding it dark and intriguing. it’s definitely a flawed relationship that is problematic and considered abuse now but what complex characters she has written and just when I think I don’t have the energy to decipher Joseph or the subtext for much longer I cant put it down! I can understand why you loved it. I was similarly attached to Jane Eyre as a teenager altho only read it the 3 times! Another one where the deeper meanings went over my head (mad wife in the attic, etc) at the time.
